Press Release — Genocide in Progress Against Banyamulenge

WORLD CONCIL OF COMMUNICATION AND DIPLOMACY AGAINST GENOCIDE IN PROGRESS AGAINST BANYAMULENGE IN THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO. INTERNATIONAL ALERT No 3.

Even the year 2020 begins bad for Banyamulenge, victims of a brutal genocide that started on April 7, 2017. The Council informs local, national and international communities the following:

The genocidal coalition made up of local armed groups (Mai-mai Bembe, Fulero, and Nyindu) and foreign armed groups (the barbaric Burundian RED-Tabara, FNL-Palipehutu, and FOREBU) continue their carnage against Banyamulenge. By its primitive barbarism, the alliance of absolute evil massacre human beings and burns villages in their entirety.

LEMERA-UVIRA AREA

At the beginning of this week, these genocidal marvels of human blood took captive five young Banyamulenge men all below 30 years of age and did not hesitate to bitterly execute them. This carnage of Kihuha was executed by the following criminals: Mushombe, Ndonde, Rushaab, and others.

The following are the Banyamulenge killed by the sword of the alliance of evil:

1. Dr. Pascal Mugema Kega

2. Mr. Mfashingabo Gad

3. Mr. Mugabo Sebakikima

4. Mr. Museveni Gatware Ruhimbya

5. Mr. Gikwerere Muzungu Sebitereko

Almost all these young men were from Kahololo, in Kigoma sector, in the chieftaincy of Bafulero/Uvira. This area of Kahololo, Rurambo, and Katobo was relatively peaceful without massacres, but, this hope is almost flouted. It should be noted that the grandfather of the deceased Mfashingabo, namely, Budederi Amos, was also massacred by Mai-Mai in June of 1966 at Katobo, in the chieftaincy of Bafulero. Who will save the Banyamulenge after 60 years without peace?

CHIEFTAINCY OF BIJOMBO

From the 26th to 28th of January 2020, this coalition of evil launched numerous massive attacks against the peaceful Banyamulenge in the chieftaincy of Bijombo, Uvira; they killed, looted, and burned villages.

The following are the 13 villages that were looted and burned down completely:

1. Gahuna

2. Kadegu

3. Kagogo

4. Kajembwe

5. Kanyaga

6. Kinyoni

7. Irango (Kwakuzi)

8. Irango (Basama)

9. Masoro

10. Mitamba

11. Mugeti I

12. Mugeti II

13. Tahiro

It should be noted that many of these villages went through the same situation of being burned two years prior, which indicates that the Mai-Mai are doing the recurrence of the same in 2020.

BARAKA-FIZI AREA

About a month ago, the Banyamulenge are apparently being told to leave the city of Baraka by Babembe, whose houses the Banyamulenge rent.

The Council will never stop being close to our sisters and brothers of Beni, North Kivu, who are also victims of endless massacres, until these tragedies halt.
